The following conditions must be met for pets to immigrate to China:

  • Whether by land or by air, pets must be accompanied by an accompanying person for immigration and customs clearance
  • Each person in Mainland China can only bring one pet at a time
  • Dogs and cats only (There is no regular way to ship dogs and cats outside of Mainland China, we do not provide any illegal services)

Preparation time and minimum number of visits to the clinic

Land Transportation of Pets to Mainland China

  • At least 1 week’s notice
  • Generally, it is recommended to enter Shenzhen via land boundary control points, and if you need to fly to other cities, you can change flights in Shenzhen
  • Pets don’t need to be quarantine

    • Cross-boundary Vehicle from Hong Kong to China (from HK$1,500 with quota for partner)
    • Transfer from Hong Kong home to Zhuhai via Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (from HK$3,000, to be determined by partner)
    • Freight from Shenzhen port to any city in China to your home (from 3,000RMB, partner quota)

    Pets to mainland China In Hold

    • At least 1 week’s notice
    • There are direct flights from Shanghai and Beijing to China, but now they can only be imported by In Hold
    • Must travel on the same flight as your pet
    • However, the pet cannot be a large pet (Remarks: The pet plus the cage must be less than 32KG, if it exceeds the maximum weight capacity, you need to choose the shipping service.)
    • Pets don’t need to be quarantine

      1. Before taking pets to China, the animal must undergo an animal health clinical examination within seven days prior to arrival to ensure that it is not infected with any relevant animal infectious diseases or parasitic diseases, including rabies.
